Perito Moreno Glacier: choose pasarelas, boat or ice before you book

Perito Moreno Glacier is a protected-site visit with separate choices: Los Glaciares National Park admission, the pasarelas, a boat approach and optional glacier trekking. Choose the experience by distance and exposure#

The pasarelas are a network of circuits and viewpoints, so plan time for more than one platform. A boat sees the glacier from the water and maintains a safe distance from the calving face; it does not land at the wall. Mini-treks are separate commercial excursions with their own age limits, equipment, meeting points and weather decisions. Do not buy a boat ticket assuming it includes a trek or park entry.

The road from El Calafate, admission queue and time on the walkways make this a substantial day. Carry warm waterproof layers, food and water according to the operator’s instructions. Wind can make the viewing decks feel colder than the town. Stay on marked paths, respect barriers and never approach a calving area beyond the managed viewpoint.
