Varna gives households three free ways to get rid of things that do not fit in the bin: leave bulky items beside the mixed-waste containers on your district's day, take sorted material to the municipal site on Perperikon Street, or book a free pickup for old electrical appliances. Each takes different things, so match the item to the route before you carry it downstairs (Varna Municipality, 20 July 2026).

Bulky items beside the bins

You can put bulky household waste next to the mixed-waste containers at any time of day, but only on the day set for your district and only up to 1.5 m³ (collection schedule):

DayDistrictVillage
MondayOdesosKonstantinovo
TuesdayPrimorskiKamenar
WednesdayMladostKazashko
ThursdayAsparuhovoZvezditsa
FridayVladislav VarnenchikTopoli

On other days, leaving it by the bins is not one of the permitted options. If you have more than 1.5 m³, split it over two weeks or take the rest to the site.

The municipal site on Perperikon Street

The household separate-collection site is at 11 Perperikon Street in Vladislav Varnenchik district. It is open every day, weekends included, from 09:30 to 18:00 with a lunch break from 13:00 to 13:30; phone 052 820 809 (municipal site). Everything it accepts is free for households.

You unload and sort your own load into the site's containers, so sort before you leave home (municipal site):

  • Furniture and other bulky items go in as they are.
  • Rubble must be the mineral fraction only: concrete, bricks, tiles, ceramics, sanitary ware. Rubble mixed with cardboard, plastic film, insulation or other materials is refused, so keep packaging and offcuts in separate bags. The limit is 2 m³ per household per year.
  • Window glass goes separately from bottles and jars.
  • Household paper, cardboard and plastic items each have their own containers.

Load the car in the order you will unload it, with rubble bags kept apart from everything else.

Old appliances: book a free pickup

Fridges, washing machines, cookers and other electrical equipment are not accepted at the site. Instead, licensed recovery companies collect them from your home for free, Monday to Friday. Requests are taken every day from 08:30 to 19:30 except on national holidays (Varna Municipality, 17 April 2026):

Waste from a volunteer cleanup

These arrangements are for household waste. If a cleanup group finds an abandoned sofa or a pile of rubble in a public place, do not add it to the bins on a collection day or take it to the site as if it were your own. Contact the municipality first, describe what and how much you have found and where, and agree where it should go before anyone loads a car.

The municipality's waste pages also list registers of sites for batteries, tyres, scrap metal and end-of-life vehicles, plus campaigns for hazardous household waste and used oil (Varna waste pages).

Details checked on 8 October 2026. The site has run seasonal hours in the past, so if you are making a special trip, a call to 052 820 809 confirms the day's hours. For the rest of the city, see the Varna guide.
